Lifeguard™ is a broad-spectrum, non-antibiotic agent that treats the clinical signs of disease at their earliest stages in freshwater fish. Added to your aquarium water, the powerful oxidizing action of HaloShield® attacks and destroys disease-causing microorganisms. You don’t have to be a fish expert to use Lifeguard.™ With this all-in-one treatment, there’s no need for time-consuming guesswork. Each pre-measured dose treats infectious ailments such as fungus, ick, red streaks, milky or shedding slime, flukes, bacterial gill disease, mouth and fin rot, clamped or torn fins, and ulcers. May be used as a preventive when adding new fish.
Details:
Before treatment, remove filter carbon and turn off UV sterilizer. Add one tablet per day to each 10 U.S. gallons (38 L) of aquarium water using the enclosed treatment apparatus. Use treatment for 5 consecutive days, at 24-hour intervals. For best results, after 5-day treatment is complete, wait 24 hours (day 6), then return activated carbon and turn on UV sterilizer. Make a 25% water change using a dechlorinator (e.g., Jungle® Start Right®) and a bacteria-enzyme product (e.g., Jungle Start Zyme®) for the entire tank volume. Jungle Water Safe PLUS® Tank Buddies® does both. To treat smaller aquariums, break tablet along scores. Each ¼ tablet treats 2.5 U.S. gallons (9.5 L). Active ingredient: 1-chloro-2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-4-imidazolidinone. Note: Not suitable for scaleless fish, invertebrates, or newly set up tanks. Use only as directed; do not overdose. If overdose occurs, add carbon or dechlorinator as directed for immediate neutralization.
